1. El verbo To be equivale a los españoles SER o ESTAR.

Se dice, ejemplo, yo soy un estudiante. I am a student.

O vosotros estáis en casa. You are at home.

 

2. Cuando se trata de sensaciones equivale al verbo TENER.

Así, por ejemplo, Tom tiene hambre. Tom is hungry.

O Edward no tiene frío. Edward is not cold.

 

3. Cando hablamos del tiempo equivale HACER.

Así, por ejemplo, Hoy hace mucho frío. It is very cold today.

 

4. En algunas ocasiones equivale a MEDIR.
